Our Centre raises awareness of the importance of myth within the contemporary world

Established in 2008, the Centre for Myth Studies provides a forum for those working on myth at the University of Essex, other universities and institutions in the UK and across the globe.

We promote the interdisciplinary study of myth  through reading groups, an online discussion list, open seminars, international conferences, and publications.

Stories only live in their being read and shared together. The Myth Reading Group opens a space for such activity, breathing life into myth. Everyone interested in myth is welcome to attend.
