Increasingly, as the traditional job market avenues are shrinking, young people have to become agents of change from the get-go and in the process become Digi-Tech entrepreneurs.

The unique aspects of the Essex I-Labs are:

• Builds on recent Essex projects: The one on Global FinTech Ecosystem has assembled extensive links from the City of London Corporation to FinTech ecosystems in India, Africa, and Singapore; the future of money, digital payments and tokenized assets projects that are Essex University led research with students involved in large scale models for the Bank of England and a MENA central bank.
• Proactive response to students: An Essex university students and alums led Y-Catalyst movement aims to fill the gap with operationalizing digital economy solutions, which  is currently viewed as an extracurricular activity with little tie in with the formal training for their degrees.  Our students will use the I-Labs to incubate digital economy solutions, receive inputs from experts & even volunteer as student technicians.
• Support from Essex Alums and others who have made a mark in the AI, FinTech and Tech Entrepreneurship world. They have signalled their enthusiasm to be part of our Steering Committee to bring about change on the ground.
