What is Open Research Week?

Open Research Week is a free, online series of events celebrating open research practises and showing how best to make research open. It takes place on 2-6 March and is aimed at anyone who is doing, supporting, or interested in research.

This is a collaboration between the University of Essex and several institutions based in North West England - the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, and Edge Hill University. We at Essex have been involved since 2024.

Together we always put on an exciting programme with talks that you can’t see anywhere else, and regularly receive around 1300 registrations. This year is no exception, and you can expect the following:

…and that’s just in the first two days! We also cover open research communities, archives and special collections, open practices, research culture, and we close we a relaxed ‘Fika’ session where we reflect and put plans into action.

Check the programme, register for any sessions that interest you, then join live or pick up the recording afterwards. We hope to see you there!
