Located just over an hour from our campus, the UK’s iconic capital city London needs no introduction. We will be taking you to explore one of the most exciting, vibrant and diverse cities in the world. This excursion includes a Thames River Cruise and a visit to the London Eye. You will also have free time allowing you to explore London’s world-class museums and galleries, stunning parks and vast array of eating, drinking and shopping options.

Cambridge

We will be taking you to visit one of the world’s most famous university cities. This excursion will include a guided walking tour allowing you to explore the city’s fascinating history. Cambridge is about more than the university and you will also have free time to walk or even go punting along the river, as well as exploring the city’s colourful market, food options, stunning architecture, and interesting museums.

Colchester Castle

Colchester is Britain’s oldest recorded town and full of historical sites to explore. We will take you on a walking tour to connect with Colchester’s past as capital of Roman Britain as well as its present as a lively and dynamic town. The highlight will be a visit to the town’s 11th century Norman castle, built on the foundations of the Roman Temple of Claudius.

Constable Country

We will travel just north of Colchester to Dedham Vale, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Also referred to as Constable Country, this area became famous thanks to appearing in the landscapes of a famous English painter, John Constable. We will visit the picturesque villages of Flatford and Dedham, see an 18th century watermill, connect with nature and wildlife, enjoy a traditional English cream team, walk along the River Stour and end with a deserved rest in a traditional British pub.

Colchester Zoo

We will take you to Colchester’s fantastic zoo. Located in beautiful parkland, and listed by Tripadvisor as the 2nd best in the UK and 11th in the world, Colchester Zoo is home to over 270 species including many rare and endangered species such as komodo dragons, amur tigers and red pandas. You will see animals from around the world, and learn more about them at daily encounters.

Tiptree Jam Factory

We will visit Wilkin & Sons, one of Essex’s most famous companies. Founded in 1885, this company produces jams and other fruit preserves and now sells its products in over 60 countries around the world. We will learn more about the history of the company, enjoy a tour of the farm and production facilities, and most importantly have a chance to taste some of the delicious products.

Clacton-on-Sea

We will take you for a fun afternoon out at the seaside. Our campus is only 15 miles from Clacton-on-Sea, the largest town on Essex’s sunshine coast and a classic British holiday resort. You will have the chance to sample some classic seaside fun by enjoying the golden sandy beach, a Victoria-era pleasure pier, seafront gardens and mini-golf course. And of course some ice cream!
