About the University's project management service

Undertaking projects is vital to facilitating change and continuous improvement within our University and to achieve our strategic plan.

Projects can be big or small, at team level or across the whole University, and involve staff at all levels. We have created a range of supporting materials and templates so, no matter what type of project you are working on, you can find information and guidance to help you every step of the way.

We can help with...

  • the first steps to take if you have an idea for a project
  • how to use the project assessment matrix to assess whether your project should be managed through the project management framework or locally through your department or section
  • which PMF templates you’ll need and how to complete them
  • information on the project governance committees and their role
  • detailed information on the roles, responsibilities and work required for the Project Sponsor and Project Manager at each stage of a project, including toolkits, templates, and example documents to help you plan and deliver projects of all types
  • training
  • how using Lean can help you to improve your processes and day to day work
  • collaboration opportunities and better understanding of lessons learned through our portfolio register which gives visibility to all of the forthcoming, live and completed strategic projects
