Profile
Biography
Carroll is a Professor in Comparative Politics at The University of Essex. He is also Director of the Essex Summer School in Social Science Data Analysis. His research focuses on democratic institutions and the role of representation in the policy-making process in the United States, Europe and elsewhere, particularly in the areas of legislative politics, political parties and quantitative methodology in the measurement of ideology. He obtained his PhD from the University of California, San Diego in 2007.
