Biography
At the UK Data Service, I am responsible for working with the Secure Lab senior team in facilitating governance, communications and network events, and developing a sustainable business model for the Safe Data Access Professionals Network (SDAP), researching funding and income opportunities, and with reference to exemplars across related sectors. This is an external strategic initiative currently supported by UK Data Service. At the UK Data Archive, I am part of the Business, Strategy and Operations team, working on the delivery of the operationalising contacts management project, and working with finance, communications and compliance, to ensure that all funding applications and subsequent monitoring of successful projects are robust, confirm and comply with UoE processes. I have over 25 years experience in corporate life, public and non-profit sectors. I have set up and managed an arts commissioning programme at BAA plc, the airport management company, and worked as national strategic lead on a range of national arts funding programmes in support of photography and new media at Arts Council England. I have also led two small arts organisations with national strategic and sector-wide remits, including a membership body. Over the last 10 years, I worked in development and operational roles focused on enhancing the performance of small non-profit organisations, by focusing on growth, financial sustainability, and revising models of delivery. Educated to post-graduate degree level, I am committed to lifelong learning.
