Hundreds of children are set for a summer packed with sport, games and adventure as the University of Essex launches its biggest-ever school holiday camp.
Running from 20 July to 28 August, the six-week CHUMS programme will give hundreds of children the chance to climb, score, dodge, shoot and play their way through the school holidays in a safe, friendly and energetic environment.
Sessions make full use of the University's outstanding sports facilities, including the Essex Sport Arena, home of the professional Essex Rebels sides.
From scaling the climbing wall and scoring goals to taking on dodgeball, basketball, tennis and handball, no two days are the same.
Children are grouped by age - Minis (five to six), Juniors (seven to nine), Youths (10 to 12) and Teens (13 to 16) - so every activity is tailored to help them build confidence, develop new skills and make new friends.
Liv Partridge, Sports Development Co-ordinator and organiser, said: "We're incredibly excited to welcome both new and returning children for another fantastic summer of CHUMS.
"Summer is all about making memories, trying something new and having fun, and that's exactly what our camps are designed to do.
“Whether a child loves sport already or is giving it a go for the first time, there's something for everyone.
"We know the school holidays can be a challenge for families looking for activities that keep children entertained and active, so we've put together our biggest programme yet. Every day is packed with games, challenges and opportunities to make new friends in a safe and supportive environment.
"We're also fortunate to have fantastic facilities and a brilliant team of coaches who create a welcoming atmosphere where every child can grow in confidence while having a great time."
Flexible booking options are available throughout the summer holidays, with places expected to fill quickly.
Families who do not already have an account should email for more information.
