The finalists for the University of Essex's Innovation Awards have been announced.

The award winners will be revealed at the annual Celebration of Innovation event later this year, which brings together some of the best partnerships between the University of Essex and businesses, charities and organisations to recognise outstanding research collaborations and the impact they’ve achieved.

Awards up for grabs on the night include the Best Large Partnership, Public or Third Sector Partnership, SME Partnership and Short Project.

Essex academics who have used their research expertise to drive innovation will also be recognised on the night through the Academic of the Year and Rising Star awards.

Holly Leonard, Head of Business Engagement at the University of Essex said: “Our Celebration of Innovation event is the perfect way to highlight the amazing work being done by academics and businesses to transform sectors and create new ways of working.

“All of our finalists have made a real impact across a range of settings and the Awards showcase what can be achieved when academia and industry come together to tackle innovation challenges.

“The celebration is an important way to recognise the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in our business partnerships and provides a platform for new conversations and ideas to be explored.”

The evening will also feature research demonstrations and talks from several guest speakers, including Signal AI CEO, David Bengison, who will be providing the keynote address.
