Essex and Chula sign new agreement

We’re building on our established links between Chulalongkorn University in Thailand and our Department of Government, our School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering and Essex Business School.

Our Vice-Chancellor Professor Anthony Forster is visiting partners across South East Asia this week including leading institutions in Thailand, Malaysia and Brunei to further our links across education and research while launching new partnership agreements.

Chulalongkorn University is the number one university in Thailand, ranked 224th in the QS World University Rankings and 16th in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.

The universities already have progressions agreements in place and have now launched a dual award focused on politics. During his visit Professor Forster met academics and spoke to students who had returned to complete their studies at Chulalongkorn University after studying at Essex.

Professor Forster said: “It is really special for me to visit Chulalongkorn University to build on our longstanding partnerships. I’m proud to be launching our new dual award programme in politics, a subject for which we are consistently recognised as one of the very best departments in the UK.

“We are one of the most international universities in the world, so forging partnerships with leading institutions like Chulalongkorn University is very important to us.

“We aim to work with institutions which share our vision and values. Just like Chulalongkorn University, we aim to deliver a transformational education informed by our world-class research which helps our students thrive in the future.”
