Edge Hotel School graduate Brittany Carter is in the semi final of hit BBC show The Apprentice and competing for a place in the final.

She is part of an all woman semi-final with the contestants seeking to win the backing of Sir Alan Sugar for their business idea.

We caught up with her to speak about how her time at Wivenhoe House Hotel as part of her studies at the Edge Hotel School prepared her for the challenges of the BBC One show.

She said: "My time at Edge Hotel School has prepared me for my time in The Apprentice because all the skills I learnt have been applicable. You learn to work with so many different types of people and you learn to lead and manage teams as well as working within teams. You learn adaptability and how to face challenges. Even if its a task I don't have specific knowledge or experience in because I am so adaptable from my time in Edge Hotel School I am still able to succeed in the tasks."

Brittany, 25, completed her BA in Hotel Management in 2017, then forged a successful career, before entering The Apprentice.

In February she returned to the Edge Hotel School to meet students and give them tips about pursuing a career in hotel management.
