A Colchester business, which is forging a new partnership with high-performance car manufacturer McLaren, is seeking expert digital marketing advice from the University of Essex.
Ultimotive Group, based on the Severalls Business Park, aims to turn McLaren’s new range of car cleaning products into a market leader.
They have turned to marketing expert, Dr Erik Jacobi, from Essex Business School, for help in using social media and influencer marketing to establish the new brand and increase sales both in the UK and in North America, where it will be launched soon.
Through his research and previous experience Dr Jacobi is an expert in brand and campaign development, influencer marketing and customer experience management. He’ll be providing his expertise through the Innovation Voucher scheme which gives businesses the opportunity to work with world class researchers to help develop new products, solve problems or develop new training schemes.
He said: “Social media marketing can be an effective way of targeting customers with the products they want, but it is a fast-changing environment and it is difficult for businesses to stay ahead of the game.
“I’ll be working with the Ultimotive Group to help them develop and implement a digital marketing framework which will serve as a blueprint for their future social media campaigns."
Ultimotive Group won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise last year. They are one of three external companies taking part in iTeams – a 10-week Essex Startups programme, which involves students being set real-world business challenges.
