The delegates were here to meet with Sue Kegerreis and learn more about our MA Psychodynamic Counselling degree.

They were particularly keen to visit a university based training provider during a week in which they were also visiting schools, voluntary agencies and other training providers.

 As Sue Kegerreis explains:

"The delegation were interested in our approach both to school counselling itself and to training school counsellors as the role is interpreted differently here from in their services.  They were interested in learning about our psychodynamic approach and there was discussion about the more purely clinical role which our trainees are offering than is usual in their system.

They were interested in the difficulties faced by our trainees on placement and somewhat relieved that there was much common ground in this regard.  They were also interested in how we interviewed and recruited, how we showed effectiveness.

It was a lively discussion, much aided by the presence of three current or past students who were able to offer their own experiences as examples. "
