We’re teaming up with Pakistan’s Women University, Swabi to promote international research and education.

Women University, Swabi Vice-Chancellor Professor Khanzadi Fatima Khattak and Essex Dean of Partnerships Professor Dominic Micklewright signed a friendship agreement on behalf of both institutions. The agreement will help Women University, Swabi staff and students take part in:

  • collaborative research projects
  • study abroad at Essex
  • placement programmes
)

Women University, Swabi’s motto, ‘Educate girls, redefine the world’ sets out their goal to produce graduates who redefine the role of women in local and global communities.

Professor Dominic Micklewright said: “Women University, Swabi is achieving important social change by creating higher education opportunities for women in Northern Pakistan.

“The work is both extremely challenging and important but will make a big difference to the prospects of women in that part of the world. Their vision is highly consistent with our values, with the partnership; we can help make a difference to the work being done.”
