Chelmsford-based software company Objective IT is joining forces with our University researchers to create two new Artificial Intelligence (AI) products.

This is the second Innovate UK backed Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) awarded to Essex and Objective IT and will build on the huge success of our first project.

The latest partnership hopes to embed natural language processing, a strand of artificial intelligence, into Objective IT’s range. Husam Quteineh, a Masters student here at Essex and a KTP Associate, will lead the project.

Husam said: “The KTP programme makes it possible to explore and expand my knowledge academically while enjoying working in the IT industry and gaining expertise in solving real world problems head on.”

Building on Objective IT’s world class software development expertise and analytics skills, the project will look to help Objective IT’s strategic aim of becoming a leading provider of conversational systems to the European business market.

Conversational systems interact with people through language, Objective IT hope to devise an email bot that will automatically respond to customer queries.

Objective IT, the first Microsoft Gold partner in the UK, launched their data insights services during their first KTP with Essex, using machine learning and artificial intelligence to help businesses measure marketing strategy effectiveness.

The aim of our new partnership is to launch the first of two new conversational analytics tools – data analytics services that will provide better data insights to Objective IT’s customers.

"We’re excited to add Natural Language Processing technology to our expanding predictive analytics offering through a second KTP with the University of Essex. Successful collaboration with the University allows us to bring knowledge of new technologies to market more efficiently, as we have academic expertise to complement our innovations in business.”

Objective IT’s first partnership with Essex led to Robert Komara being named ‘Best KTP Associate’ at the our KTP Winter Celebration 2017.

During that project Robert, who is now Head of Data Insights at Objective IT, created four new products, growing the technical team and boosting the company’s profits dramatically.
