Security and Transport Management teams

Our Security team operate a continuous shift pattern to provide unbroken assistance and welfare support as required to University students, staff and visitors, whilst maintaining the security of the campus security of the campus security of the campus security of the campus buildings, property, accommodation and grounds.

Patrol Officer responsibilities

Patrol Officers complete regular mobile and foot patrols. We also respond to and deal with:

  • fire alarms
  • first aid
  • out-of-hours accommodation lockouts and faults
  • welfare issues
  • intruder alarms
  • locking/unlocking of University rooms and buildings
  • enquiries on a 24-hour basis.

It is also occasionally necessary for us to act upon and report indiscipline, anti-social behaviour and crime. An escort service to campus car parks and accommodation can also be provided, allowing priority tasks to be completed.

Traffic Officer responsibilities

Our Traffic Officers help the University community to park safely and effectively, in support of the University’s travel plan. The Traffic Officers patrol the campus car parks ensuring there is a clear and fair process to all of the available spaces for parking on campus.
