The Essex Startups Grant

​The Essex Startups Grant scheme gives current students and graduates within the last five years from the University of Essex grants to support ventures that are at a developmental stage.

Eligibility:

• The Essex Startups Grant scheme is open to current students and graduates within the last 5 years from the University of Essex.
• We will grant up to £3,000 to support innovative start ups that are in the developmental stages of their business. Grants must be used within 12 months of being awarded.
• You will be asked to keep track of receipts and proof of grant spend during this time during 6 monthly check ins.
• Applicants must have a registered UK bank account but do not need to have a business bank account at the time of application.
• In addition to this form you are currently on, applicants must also register details on the Santander X platform to be successful.
• Please note that this funding, as with all Essex Startups funding, cannot be used to pay salaries/wages so please bear this in mind with the funding section of this application.

As well as the written application, you will also need to produce a short video, no more than three minutes in length, giving an introduction to your business/idea, and explaining what the funding will allow you to do.

Deadline for applications is 6 May 2024.

The pitching event will be held in The Lab on Thursday 23 May 2024 between 1.00pm-3.30pm

You will be notified if your application has been successful and will be given details of the pitch day via email.
