For International Women's Day, Occupational Health are facilitating a webinar run by Katharine Gale, founder of the company FluxState.

The webinar will last 90 minutes, broken up into:

  • 45 virtual presentation with engagement through Slido (you will have an option to record the presentation)
  • 15 minutes for general discussion 
  • optional 30 minutes for questions and answers for those attendees who wish to stay on (for confidentiality, this should not be recorded and shared)

Welcome, and Introduction: 

  • What is perimenopause and Menopause - definitions 
  • Why all this talk about menopause - challenges and impact 

Know your body:

  • The 34 signs and symptoms of menopause - access to my Menopause Bingo printout sheet. 
  • Protecting our bones, brains and hearts to live a longer, healthier life (women spend 20 years on average in poor health)
  • impact of other health and well-being diagnoses - cancer, surgery, thyroid conditions, mental health, trauma, etc
  • impact on relationships 

Know your mind: 

  • management and treatment options
  • risks and benefits of HRT 
  • alternative treatments 

Asking for what you need:

  • Recognise the symptoms and impact on you
  • Looking at healthy lifestyle changes that can help
  • being clear on what you think might help
  • Articulating your request to clinicians or managers
