Alumni Reunion Weekend

Join us for a trip down memory lane! We're delighted to invite you to our Alumni Reunion Weekend.

This August we’re welcoming alumni back to our Colchester Campus for a weekend of fun where you can reconnect with your classmates and friends, relive your student days, and even stay overnight in student accommodation!

What to expect

• You'll arrive at our Colchester Campus in the early afternoon, drop off your bags and get stuck into our afternoon activities
• In the early evening, we'll come together for a reception - think canapés, drinks and a pretty view
• After the reception, you'll enjoy a lakeside barbeque before heading to the Students' Union bar to see how much you remember from your studies at our subjects-inspired quiz
• Evening entertainment concludes with karaoke in the bar
• If you're staying overnight, head back to your accommodation (either the Towers or South Courts)
• On Sunday morning, grab breakfast at the Canteen. After, perhaps wander into Wivenhoe for a pub lunch or take a leisurely walk around the campus and its grounds?

Accommodation

Two accommodation options are available to choose from.

Single room with shared kitchen and bathroom in The Towers

Our iconic North Towers always have been and still are, the heart and soul of our Colchester Campus and a local landmark. The North Towers offers a great sense of community and social atmosphere just a two-minute walk to the centre of campus. Each tower is made up of flats to accommodate 14 to 16 people with shared facilities. 

En-suite room with shared kitchen in South Courts

The second largest accommodation area on offer here at Essex. South Courts is near lots of green space and is a five-minute walk to the centre of campus. Each of the eight courts are arranged into en-suite flats with shared kitchens for four to fourteen students. 

Alternative accommodation

If you don't fancy reliving your student days in accommodation, you can book a day ticket and arrange your own accommodation. Wivenhoe House Hotel is located on our Colchester Campus and, as alumni, you can take advantage of a 10% discount. Just quote 'alumni' when booking via telephone on 01206 863666.

Terms, conditions and additional information

• The cost of the full reunion package ranges between £100-£110 per person and includes one night’s accommodation on Saturday 19 August, activities throughout the afternoon on campus, drinks and canapes reception at the end of the afternoon, evening barbecue, entertainment in the SU bar until late, breakfast vouchers for use at Essex Food Outlets and free parking.

• Campus tours will be available during the afternoon. Please be advised that this will cover a considerable distance, across varied terrains, and so sensible footwear should be worn. There will be stairs involved, however lift access will be available for those who require it.

• Please note that most food and drink outlets, including the SU bar, are cashless.

• Overnight accommodation is either in North Towers where flats contain between 14 to 16 single rooms with shared facilities or South Courts where flats contain between 4 to 14 single en-suite rooms with shared kitchen facilities. Complimentary bed linen, towels, toiletries and WiFi are provided. Both accommodation options are for single rooms, adults only.
• To be accommodated as a group, please book together and we will do our best to ensure you are in the same flat or house. Please note that we are unable to accept requests for specific rooms or flats.
• The cost of the day package is £45 per person and includes activities throughout the afternoon on campus, drinks and canapes reception at the end of the afternoon, evening barbecue, entertainment in the SU bar until late and free parking. 
• Booking closes on Friday 11 August.
• If your plans change, requests for refunds can be made prior to Friday 11 August.
