Essex students launch an international short film festival, exploring themes of local community and socio-economic struggles.
UpLift presents a two-day programme of short films, selected by students in the Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies (LiFTS). The programme will showcase work from all parts of the world, with a strong focus on highlighting social issues such as the cost of living crisis, discrimination, and community struggle.
In addition to three daily one-hour screening sessions, the programme includes masterclasses and workshops, live music, and opportunities for young filmmakers to network and grow their confidence.
For the running order on each both days, please refer to the table below.
All events take place in LTB10 and are open to all Essex staff and students. Admission is free.
