The only scheme of its kind in the sector to serve more than one organisation, Charityworks offer a unique opportunity for graduates and young professionals to gain experience and build networks across the charity sector, at the same time as offering organisations an opportunity to attract, grow and retain talented staff in a way that saves money without compromising on quality.

The skills session will cover two elements:

What you need to be successful on the Charityworks programme.

The first part of the session will cover what the Charityworks and Fast-Track application process is, what competencies Charityworks looks for in their candidates and then we’ll work through a practice application question that’ll help attendees structure their application answers and know what content to include.

What you need to be successful in the Charity sector.

We’ll then look at the non-profit sector as a whole and what skills, values, and knowledge are needed to have a career in the sector. We’ll go through different examples of how you can develop these skills, for example where to find volunteering opportunities, and we’ll cover key issues and themes happening in the non-profit sector currently (this will help if candidates are asked about this in interviews).

Open to all students, this session will give you the inside track for securing a role in the competitive charity sector.
