The Diverse Support Group is an initiative developed by Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity Service (SWIS) aimed at supporting students coming from diverse backgrounds and with diverse identities, such as LGBQ+, trans and non-binary students.
In the form of seminars, the members will be meeting fortnightly via Zoom, with the aim to create a peer-support network and a place to share support and wellbeing advice. In these spaces students can expect to bring up any issues they may face, to receive advice or a listening ear, and to hear similar experiences from fellow members. Through an ‘Experience in common’ method, the group hopes to build a stronger community, and to create a safe space to share and get support from like-minded people.
Come along to have a chat, share a story, or learn some wellbeing tips.
This is a safe space where you can listen or be listened to, and it’s your choice how you participate!
