Often we are told that to change the world, we need to shop, eat and travel differently. How we decide to do this is personal to us. It may be that we start new interests or adapt current activities to reduce environmental impact.

The event will explore this idea by looking at plant-based lifestyles, and education for sustainability and even low-carbon ornithology! There will be a panel talk with a Q&A for the audience to ask questions and we will end with vegan cake and food tasting and a short quiz where the winning team will win a prize.

The event will be hosted by Dr Katy Wheeler, Senior Lecturer in Sociology, Norman Riley, Sociology PhD student, and Professor Sean Nixon, Professor of Sociology at University of Essex. This event is part of the nationwide Festival Of Social Science, it is open to the public and completely free of charge.
