Each week we'll be posting a selection of online programmes hosted by our fantastic Residents' Assistant (RA) team. Take part in any events or activities which you're interested in. This is a great opportunity to make new friends, stay connected, and be part of our online community.

All Residence Life programmes are open to both on and off campus students from any location – no booking needed, just log on and join the event at the start time.

  • Virtual Colchester Tour

Come join us for a virtual tour of Colchester! As lockdown begins to ease from next month, we may see some tourist attractions re-open to the public, which hopefully gives you some time to experience Colchester in person. Attend this short programme to hear more from a current student about things available in Colchester to enjoy. Hosted by SRA Barbara (South Courts).


  • Stressed to De-Stressed

Grab a cup of tea, sit back and relax during this De-stress evening! The goal of this online event  is to provide an opportunity for residents to share relaxation tips as we head to towards deadlines at the end of term and the Summer exams. Share how you relax and wind down, and then we'll spend some time unwinding together over some online games. 
Over the evening, you may learn some new skills and techniques needed to de-stress so you are prepared to not only manage the stress of exams, but to manage future stressful events in our lives. Hosted by RA Eleanor (North). 


  • Streaming - 'Headspace: Guide to Meditation' (2020)

Come along to learn effective stress management techniques from a current student. Hopefully by the end of the event, you will feel happier, healthier and ready to be more productive. Meditation is a great tool to keep a balanced mind when under pressure and meet challenges. During the programme, we will sync up a streaming of a couple of episodes of 'Headspace: Guide to Meditation' (2020), available on Netflix. Meditation tools will be useful for everyone as we approach a busy exam season. Hosted by RA Karolina (North). 


  • Exams and Mental Health

This online programme will give attendees a brief introduction into mental health in students, and how taking care of our mental health and emotional wellbeing is vital for all students as we approach exams. Managing exam anxiety can be a real worry for all students so it's important to share how we're feeling and what helps us cope. After this, there will be some time for some sociable online games such as Among Us, and a selection of games available on backyard.co. Hosted by SRA Evi (North).
