Your department induction is an essential part of Welcome Week.

Your department induction is a compulsory part of Welcome Week.

Our departmental induction will be held virtually, online. More information about your department induction is now on the online Welcome Programme via 'Meet your Faculty and Department'. Come and find out more about your course, meet key members of staff like your personal tutor, and meet the people you’re going to be studying with.

Studying more than one subject? If you're studying a joint degree, you should access key support through your home department. If you're not sure which is your home department, you can find out on MyEssex.

How to attend

Our departmental induction will be held virtually, online. More information about how to access the online welcome portal will be sent to you by email in the weeks before arrival day.

Departmental Events

This year our departmental welcome week will look and feel slightly different to the activities we normally have on offer.

Don't worry though, we will still be hosting a range of useful online events. These events will include a valuable introduction to your chosen course, an opportunity to meet with different lecturers and chat to personal tutors, and meeting fellow classmates.

Our goal is to make you feel right at home in the department, without actually needing to come onto campus!
