Be part of our global, cutting-edge and research-intensive postgraduate community.

Come along to our Postgraduate Open Evening on Wednesday 18 March 2020. Meet some of our staff and students, and discover what it's all about to be part of our international postgraduate community. We have a wide range of courses to study at Essex, from Masters to PhDs, so get yourself booked onto our Open Evening to discover some of the opportunities that will be available to you as a postgraduate student.

Professor Sanja Bahun, our Dean of Postgraduate Research and Education, will give an introductory talk, and there will be opportunities to speak to academics and student services, such as the Students' Union, Student Support, and our sports and accommodation teams. You'll also have the chance to go on a campus or accommodation tour.

We're open from 4-7pm and are based in the Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall at our Colchester Campus. Refreshments will be provided.

The current programme for the evening is:

  • 4.10-4.40pm - Welcome talk by Professor Sanja Bahun and James Teague
  • 4.45-5.15pm - Welcome talk (repeated)
  • 5.20-5.30pm - Student Finance talk
  • 5.50-6.10pm - CANCELLED. Sociology talk by Dr Anna Sergi: "A sociological imagination as a tool for today’s society." Unfortunately this talk has been cancelled. We are looking to replace it with another speaker.
  • 6.15-6.35pm - Health and Social Care talk by Professor Peter Martin: "Postgraduate educational opportunities in the School of Health and Social Care."
  • 6.40-7.00pm - Psychology talk by Dr Vanessa Loaiza: "Postgraduate courses in psychology in Essex."

Please be aware that spaces for each talk will be limited.

Use our online booking form to register, then just come along during the evening and we'll check you in when you arrive.

We're looking forward to meeting you!
