Undergraduate and Direct Entry Students

Undergraduate Welcome Talk

Thursday 3rd October 2019, 12:00 - 13:00

Venue : Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall (ICLH) A

This compulsory event is your opportunity to meet the Head of Department and other key members of staff, find out more about the department and ask any questions you may have about your upcoming studies.

Undergraduate Welcome Lunch

Thursday 3rd October 2019, 13:00 - 14:00

Venue : Tony Rich Teaching Centre

This event is your opportunity to meet with other new students and key members of staff whilst enjoying a tasty lunch, in a relaxed environment.

Meet Your Personal Tutor and Peer Mentor Event (including an optional campus tour)

Thursday 3rd October 2019, 14:00 - 15:30

Venue : Tony Rich Teaching Centre TC2 (room will be allocated on arrival)

All new first year undergraduates are allocated a Personal Tutor and a Peer Mentor. This compulsory event is your opportunity to meet them and ask questions about university life and being a student at Essex. There will also be the option of taking a campus tour with a Peer Mentor.

Postgraduate Taught Students

This event is your opportunity to meet with other new students and key members of staff whilst enjoying a tasty lunch, in a relaxed environment.

Postgraduate Taught Welcome Talk and Meet Your Personal Tutor

Social Event

Open to all students

Friday 4th October 2019, 14:00 - 16:00

Venue : Sub Zero

This event is open to all new and returning students from the Department of Government. A fun finale to your first week at Essex. There will be food and drink and plenty of opportunity to meet new friends and talk to members of staff.
