This seminar will investigate a one-dimensional parity-time (PT)-symmetric magnetic metamaterial consisting of split-ring dimers having gain or loss.
By employing a Melnikov analysis Dr Makrina Agaoglou will talk about the existence of localized travelling waves, i.e. homoclinic or heteroclinic solutions.
Dr Agaoglou will show conditions under which the homoclinic or heteroclinic orbits persist. Moreover she will talk about the agreement between the analytical results and the direct numerical computations.
