Twitter is a free, incredibly useful tool to promote your research online – but how do you know if you’re doing it ‘right’?

Whether you are new to Twitter, a confident user or somewhere in between, come along to our Academic Twitter Forum to discuss and share your experiences with other academics.

This informal session is a safe place to discuss the opportunities and pitfalls of Twitter, share tips and ideas and connect with other academic staff from across the University.

To start the session, Professor Steve Peers from the School of Law will talk about his experiences of Twitter. Professor Peers is a prolific Twitter user and has successfully attracted over 70,000 followers since 2014.

Professor Peers is an EU expert and his research interests include Human Rights and World Trade Law. He has made many broadcast appearances and regularly writes about current EU developments on his blog, EU Law Analysis.

Neri Blower from the Communications Team will also be on hand to answer any questions you might have about tweeting from a professional account.

The forum will take place on Wednesday 6 March, 1pm to 2pm, Special Collections Room in the Albert Sloman Library, Colchester Campus.

Feel free to bring your own refreshments. No registration necessary, just turn up!
