Come and see us.

If you haven’t visited us already or it’s been a while since you last saw us, come along to our Clearing Open Day to get to know us or just refresh your memory.

There’ll be campus and accommodation tours, academics, and plenty of students around to chat about your course and life at Essex.

There's no need to book your place, just turn up on the day. We look forward to welcoming you!

Special requirements

If you or your guests have any special requirements, please email us in advance so we can make sure your visit is as smooth as possible. If you're a visitor with a disability, please let a member of staff know so they can advise you on accessible routes around campus. If you would prefer a personal tour of our campus and/or accommodation, then let us know when you check in and we'll arrange for a Student Ambassador to guide you.

What to expect

You're welcome to arrive any time from 12pm to check-in and speak to our academics, student services and current students. Our academics will be available to answer your questions between 12pm - 2pm.

The Clearing Open Day officially finishes at 4pm with the last campus accommodation tours taking place at 3.30pm. Our student services stands will be staffed from 12-4pm. When you arrive, head to our friendly staff in the Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall who will register you. We’ll only ask for your name so there’s no need to bring anything with you. Next, head to our Welcome Café, grab a free tea and coffee, and ask away.
