Behavioural choices play an important role in the prevention of cancer occurrence and recurrence. In this talk I will highlight the behaviours implicated in cancer occurrence and discuss the challenges presented for psychology. The talk will use examples from our research in skin cancer interventions to examine the challenges of primary prevention and our research in bowel cancer to examine the case for public health psychology as critical to secondary prevention.
