Writing Well: Academic Style - Part 2

Principles and practicalities of how to write well at university

Knowing how to write at university and what is expected of you can feel confusing.

In our first "writing well" session, we looked at the principles and questions that underpin the idea of academic style.  In this workshop, we will explore these ideas in more detail, and look at how different types of academic voice are constructed, and how you can adapt your own style.

It doesn't matter what subject you study, or what level you are at - the things that make for good academic writing are the same.

Anyone can write well - so come along and find out how.

Our workshops run all year round at our Helpdesk in the Silberrad Student Centre, and cover all aspects of academic skills, maths and statistics.  You can also book a 1:1 appointment with an advisor to talk over anything in your studies that you need help with.

Have a browse through the sessions that are available this term, or pop along to the Helpdesk to find out more.
