SPAH Seminar Series: Dr Liam Jarvis

Empathy Activism: Immersion, VR Telepresence & Proprioceptive Drift

The Philosophy and Art History Research Seminar meets weekly in term on Thursday afternoons to discuss a paper by a visiting philosopher, art historian, or a member of our academic staff.

This week's speaker is Essex theatre practitioner Dr Liam Jarvis.

Prior to joining the Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies at Essex, Liam was a Visiting Lecturer and Teaching Fellow in contemporary theatre-making at Royal Holloway University. Since 2007, Liam has been Co-artistic Director of Analogue, an award-winning alt. theatre company with whom he has created devised work that has toured the UK/internationally. In this week's seminar, Liam will discuss immersion, VR telepresence and proprioceptive drift.

The seminar will be followed by informal drinks at Top Bar and a meal.
