You're joining a vibrant community of over 1200 postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers.
During your time as a PGR student at Essex, you will benefit from working and networking with your supervisor(s) and from engaging with the broader research community within your academic department/school. You will also become part of the wider PGR community at the University of Essex through the Essex Doctoral and Postdoctoral College (EDPC).
The Postgraduate Research Education team is dedicated to supporting our postgraduate researcher community throughout their time at Essex. The PGRE Team is here to assist with key transitions and milestones throughout your PGR journey – for example, we facilitate your induction and transition into PGR life through the PGR Welcome Conference, as well as provide support and guidance to you throughout your time as a PGR student at Essex.
We are here to support all students as they navigate their studies and research, working with all academic departments and schools to support academic progression, continuation, and award for the whole PGR community. We provide expert advice and guidance to students and their supervisors , and academic departments, on the implementation and operation of PGR-related regulations, policies and processes, including progress assessment and monitoring, examination and viva.
The team also provides support for UKRI-funded Doctoral Training Partnerships, and postgraduate research student skills development – specifically via the University’s research training scheme, Proficio.
We look forward to working with you during your time at Essex and welcome you as a fellow member of the Essex Doctoral and Postdoctoral College.
