"I liked that Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science is a small and friendly school, where it is easy to get to know the lecturers and all the staff."

BSc Mathematics and Economics (2012-2015), MSc Mathematics and Finance (2015-2016), and PhD Data Science (2016-2021), now a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bristol.

I am passionate about sharing my knowledge of data analytics and data science. I also enjoy solving challenging real- world problems using data. I am now working as a postdoctoral researcher in Statistical Modelling at the University of Bristol and all my degrees and work experience gained whilst I was at Essex helped me secure this position.

I chose Essex because it is a very exciting place to live and study. I had the opportunity to meet people from around the world, learn about their cultures and understand different perspectives. I met like-minded people, not only on my course, but by becoming a member of various sports clubs and societies.

Essex provided me with a well-rounded student experience. I enjoyed the variety of modules I was able to take and learned a lot of new skills that I use in my profession today. I liked that the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science is a small and friendly department, where it is easy to get to know the lecturers and all the staff, and people are very helpful.

Without a doubt the projects, employment, and societies I was involved in whilst studying at Essex helped me decide on my career path.
