Introducing our new Director of People and Culture
Following a thorough search and selection process I am pleased to announce we have appointed Alix Langley as our new Director of People and Culture.
Alix brings a wealth of HR experience, joining us from her role as Director of People Services at SOAS University of London and a wider background across both the public and private sectors. She is also a Trustee of The Reading Agency.
Here’s what Alix had to say about joining us at Essex:
“I am really pleased to be joining the University of Essex and leading the People and Culture team. It is an exciting time to be starting, and I am really looking forward to delivering and developing the new People Supporting Strategy and helping to support students and staff as we bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“My previous experience comes from both the public and private sectors, but until 2019 I was the Director of People at the House of Commons and now run staff and student services at SOAS University of London. Thank you to those I have already met; I look forward to meeting everyone else and learning more about Essex soon.”
Alix will join us on 1 September, replacing Susie Morgan, who retired in April. Until then, Sara Limerick will continue in her role as acting Director.
