I decided I wanted to pursue an education at University, more particularly Business Management, as I wanted to build a strong academic foundation in business, management, leadership, and human resource development.

Before joining Essex, I gained practical experience through projects linked to digital transformation, startup ecosystem development, event coordination, and business operations. I have completed certifications in project management, AI fluency, data analytics, business intelligence, and creative writing, which have strengthened my interest in strategy, leadership, human resources, and digital innovation.
I chose to study BSc (Hons) Business Management because it provided a broad understanding of how organisations operate, grow, and manage people. The degree stood out to me because it covers important areas such as Human Resource Management, Business Strategy, Organisational Behaviour, International Business Environment, Management Accounting and Career Management. I was especially interested in the CIPD-aligned HR element, as I want to understand how people, leadership, and organisational culture influence business performance.
Essex Business School attracted me with its strong focus on practical business education, employability, and international learning. The structure of the Business Management degree matched my interests in strategy, human resources, leadership, and digital transformation.
I am most proud of adapting to a new academic and cultural environment while continuing to build my confidence, communication skills, and career direction. I love that I’ve been able to bring my previous professional experiences into my studies, such as coordinating operations for more than 200 international delegates during the DFDI 2024 project and supporting Asian Development Bank CAREC startup ecosystem activities. These experiences have helped me approach university life with responsibility, teamwork, and a practical mindset.
My favourite areas of BSc Business Management are Human Resource Management, Business Strategy, Organisational Behaviour, and International Business Environment. I particularly enjoy these elements as they connect directly with real organisational challenges, such as people management, response to change, and building strong leadership cultures. I also like that the course encourages critical thinking and helps students apply business concepts to practical situations.
One of the most rewarding elements of life at Essex is the diverse and welcoming campus environment. At Essex students are given the chance to meet people from different countries, cultures, and academic backgrounds. This makes the university experience enriching, both personally and professionally. Our campus feels active, international, and student focused. It provides a great balance between academic study, social interaction, and personal development. This environment makes it easier to focus on learning while also meeting new people and becoming part of the wider university community.
The social life element is diverse and engaging. There are many opportunities to meet people, join activities and interact with students from different countries. This helps create a strong sense of community and makes university life even more enjoyable beyond the classroom.
Studying at Essex has given me the invaluable opportunity to grow personally, learn in an international environment, and build solid foundations for a career in business strategy, operations and organisational development.
