The run up to your Results Day can feel very full on, and we know it's a mix of emotions - excitement about the next chapter in your life, but also nerves about what that next chapter could bring. We can't magically remove your anxiety (we wish we could!), but hopefully our tips on how to prepare for Results Day will help.
Things to consider as Results Day approaches
If you're planning to come to Essex, have you applied for accommodation on campus?
We hope to welcome you to one of our campuses in October, and as a first-year student, you're guaranteed University-owned accommodation so long as you apply by the accommodation deadline, 12 September 2025.
From the iconic Towers to our newest accommodation, The Pastures, we don’t doubt that you'll settle straight into your new home. If we're your Firm choice, you can apply for accommodation online. If we're your Insurance choice and you have yet to receive an email inviting you to apply, please email us at admit@essex.ac.uk.
Regardless of who your Firm or Insurance choices are, now's the time to take five minutes and step back from it all.
The hard work is done (for now), and we know the run-up to Results Day can feel stressful, but you’re not alone, and your mental health should be a focus right now. Over the next few weeks, take some time out to do the things you enjoy. That might include taking walks in nature, watching your favourite films, or splashing out on a fancy bath bomb for a luxurious bath. Take the time to relax!
Things to consider when Results Day arrives
If things go well…
If you’re showing as Unconditional Firm with Essex on UCAS Hub, then you’ve done it! We’ve been able to confirm your offer, and your place at Essex is secured. Congratulations! You’ll also find your confirmation letter on your MyEssex portal.
Call your family, FaceTime your friends, and get the celebrations started!
You are now officially one of us, so welcome to the family.
Check out the next steps for new students before you arrive.
If things don’t go to plan…
We’re so sorry this hasn’t worked out as you hoped. But this is not the end of the road. Take the time to talk to someone you trust and chat through your next steps. Clearing may be your best option, which might feel scary right now, but it shouldn’t. Have a read through our Clearing pages and whenever you're ready, let's talk over the phone or on Live Chat.
