The Library teams will be taking a short break over the holiday period, so please read on for information about our opening hours and the services which will be continue to be available.

Opening Hours

Full opening hours can be found on the Opening Hours section of the Library website, for a quick view of Easter Opening Hours for specific campuses please read on:

Colchester - Albert Sloman Library

  • Thursday 28 March – main library closing at 8pm
  • Friday 29 March – closed
  • Saturday 30 March – closed
  • Sunday 31 March – closed
  • Monday 1 April – closed
  • Tuesday 2 April – main library opening at 8am (normal hours resume)

There will be 24/7 access to the Library Learning Room and Postgraduate Reading Room throughout - you will need your ID Card to access these rooms via the out of hours doors.

Books can be returned to the external book return in Colchester at any time over the closure period, the book return is located opposite the Silberrad Student Centre.

Southend - Info Point and Public Library

  • Friday 29 March – closed
  • Saturday 30 March – closed as usual for a Saturday, but the public library (ground and first floor) will be staffed 8am-5pm.
  • Sunday 31 March – closed
  • Monday 1 April – closed

The Learning Hub will still be accessible 24/7 and students will additionally be able to browse on the first floor and self-issue books.

Loughton - East 15 Library and IT Centre

  • Thursday 28 March – closed from 11pm
  • Friday 29 March – self-service only 10:00am to 5:00pm
  • Saturday 30 March – self-service only 10:00am to 5:00pm
  • Sunday 31 March – closed (as usual)
  • Monday 1 April – self-service only 10:00am to 5:00pm
  • Tuesday 2 April – open from 8.30am

For all libraries

The following services won’t be available until our return:

  • Scan and Deliver
  • Book a Librarian appointments
  • Support via chat, email and phone

 

Support available when we are not

Access to all e-resources will still be available.

Laptop loans will also continue to be available at all three campuses.
