To be eligible for our international summer school you must:
For non-native speakers of English we'll also need to see some evidence before enrolment that you've reached at least the level of IELTS 5.5* or equivalent. If you have not done an IELTS test we are able to accept a range of other English language qualifications. If you have any doubts about the equivalence of your qualifications please contact the international summer school team and we will be able to advise you.
Alternatively, if you are currently studying all or part of your degree at your home university in English, we can also accept this as proof of English proficiency.
*Please note we can accept IELTS 5 or equivalent for the English Language, Culture and History course.
EU/EEA students do not need a visa to enter or study in the UK for this summer school, as the transition period lasts until the end of 2020.
Please note that if you need to apply for a short-term study visa, we will email you a visa support letter after we have received your deposit payment.
After receiving your application, we will contact you to request any extra information we require. We will typically ask you to send us proof of your educational and English language qualification, as well as a scanned copy of your passport or ID.
We will then aim to process your application within seven days. If you are successful, we will send you an offer letter by email. If we are unable to offer you a place for your first-choice module we may offer you an alternative course.
To confirm your place on the course, you will need to pay a deposit of £350 within 14 days of receiving our offer. We will send you payment instructions at this time. The deadline for full payment is Friday 8 May 2020. If you have questions about payment please contact the International Summer School team.
