Business Development

The UECS Business Development team focuses on identifying, developing, and nurturing commercial opportunities that support the long term growth of UECS services.
Our role is to build strong relationships with external partners, explore new revenue streams, and ensure UECS remains competitive and responsive to market needs.
Key activities include market research, lead generation, partnership development, tender responses, pricing strategy, and supporting services such as Accommodation Essex, Event Essex, Essex Food, Essex Sport, Essex Rebels, Wivenhoe Day Nursery, and Wivenhoe House Hotel, in securing new business.

We work closely with operational teams to ensure that new opportunities align with UECS capabilities and strategic priorities. By combining insight, innovation, and collaboration, the Business Development team helps drive sustainable growth and enhances the visibility and impact of UECS across the region.

Event Essex Event Essex Event Essex offers modern conference, meeting and event facilities at the University of Essex Colchester Campus, alongside comfortable on-campus accommodation and high-quality catering. Whether you're planning an academic conference, corporate event or meeting, our experienced team provides dedicated support to help deliver a successful experience. Guests can also enjoy convenient en-suite accommodation and a range of freshly prepared catering options, with menus designed to meet a variety of dietary requirements.

Marketing and Communication support

The UECS Marketing and Communications team provides strategic and operational marketing support to all UECS services, ensuring each area is represented clearly, consistently, and effectively.

Our work includes brand management, digital marketing, content creation, internal and external communications, campaign planning, and promotional support for commercial services such as Accommodation Essex, Event Essex, Essex Food, Essex Sport, Essex Rebels, Wivenhoe Day Nursery, and Wivenhoe House Hotel.

We help teams reach their audiences, communicate their value, and strengthen the reputation of UECS across the University and beyond.

We work collaboratively with service leads to understand their goals and challenges, offering guidance on best practice and delivering marketing activity that supports growth, engagement, and customer satisfaction.
