We are working with Essex Working Well towards a Level 3 Working Well Accredited organisation. They have a range of elearning, webinars and competitions aimed at improving staff wellbeing.

Essex Working Well's training sessions include comprehensive resources and links and should take no longer than 45 minutes to complete. There is no need to book, these sessions can be undertaken at a time to suit you.

  • Coercive control - the signs and behaviour of coercive control, and the resources and support available across Essex.
  • Demystifying disability - the social model of disability, case studies and reasonable adjustments in the workplace.
  • Autistic spectrum conditions - introduction to autism, impact on employment and how to support a colleague in the workplace including reasonable workplace adjustments.
  • Long-term medical conditions - 15 million people in England have a long-term medical condition. This session looks at the impact on employment and covers reasonable adjustments.
  • Special Learning Differences - dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and ADHD, the rights for individuals in the workplace and how to undergo an adult diagnostic assessment.
  • Understanding hearing impairment - a session to raise awareness and to understand hearing impairment, including tips on communication.
  • Understanding visual impairment - Two million people in the UK experience significant sight loss. This session covers types of sight loss and how to support individuals with visual impairment.
  • Seasonal affective disorder - affecting more than 10-15% of the general population, this session provides insight and some practical self-help strategies.
  • Time to talk and the Wellness Action Plan - a session for managers with guidance on how to start a conversation and to also use the wellness action template and resources.
  • Boundaries and self-care - why having boundaries and practising self-care is so important both within the workplace and in our personal lives.
  • What's in your stress container? - helping to identify helpful and unhelpful coping strategies and can be a useful weekly ‘stress busting’ self-care exercise.

Managers mental health awareness

Short, accessible and informative elearning provides managers with essential information to manage employee mental health and wellbeing:

  • starting a conversation
  • assessing risk
  • sources of support and signposting MHFA and the workplace

This session can be used as a stepping stone to other mental health training programmes
