Biography
I am an assistant lecturer and PhD student in the Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex, Colchester, UK. I hold a masters degree in Jungian studies from the University of Essex. I am currently the co-organizer of the synchronicity research group in the department. My PhD thesis title is A Practice of Esotericism or Psychology: Adaptations of Jungian Ideas to Divinatory Techniques. I recently published an article titled "The I Ching as a Potential Jungian Application: History and Practice" in The Journal of Analytical Psychology. Recent Publication(s): Zeng, J. (2023). Thesis
A Practice of Esotericism or Psychology: Adaptations of Jungian Ideas to Divinatory Techniques
This research concentrates on the impact of Jungian psychology on the contemporary practice of divination. It further inquires that if the contemporary practice of divination under Jungian influences can be recognized as a form of disenchanted and empirically psychologized adaptation of divinatory techniques through developing a psychological perspective of divinatory techniques.
