Thesis

The role of Rights-based Budgeting in implementing the obligation to fulfil the right to Basic Education in Nigeria

The thesis considers the global progressiveness towards rights-based budgeting initiatives to improve the provision of resources at domestic levels to realise economic, social and cultural rights. It analyses Nigeria's legal obligation to the right to basic education and explores the adoption of a gender lens in public budgeting to provide adequate resources to realise the right to basic education. The research underscores a gender-responsive approach for transformative equality.
