Profile

Biography

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in the year 2000 (completing my degree at the then Essex School of Occupational Therapy). My work experience mainly lies with community mental health working in secondary care in the NHS. I have also worked in social care and forensic mental health for a private organisation. I have always taken an interest in clinical teaching opportunities within my professional role. I am currently undertaking the MSc in Healthcare Practice at the University of Essex. I have a specialist interest in mental health, particularly peer support, social prescribing and co-production. I am currently completing my dissertation in the experience of health when participating in the 'parkrun'. I am excited to develop my role as Lecturer in Occupational Therapy on the Apprenticeship Degree Programme.
