Biography

Dr Gabrielle Lin has research interests in applied economics and behavioural economics, with a focus on demand modelling and decision-making. Her research explores how economic principles influence consumer behaviour and consumption patterns, employing econometric and statistical techniques for analysis. Her recent work has examined the impacts of COVID-19 and the cost-of-living crisis on industry demand and employee wages. Gabrielle holds a dual PhD in Tourism Economics from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Surrey, along with a master’s degree in Financial Engineering from City University of Hong Kong and a bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Tourism Management from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research has been published in Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, and others.
