Profile
Biography
I am an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist who recently completed a part-time PhD, using a Participatory Action Research approach to explore more accessible and inclusive ways of evaluating disabled people's participation in sport and physical activity. I am particularly interested in occupational in/justice and how Occupational Therapists can work with marginalised groups to address inequalities in access to occupations, particularly through collaborative research approaches. Before coming to Essex to complete the MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-registration), I worked for a number of years in the third sector, for Parkinson's UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. I work three days a week as an Occupational Therapist for Sport for Confidence, leading the delivery model at Colchester Leisure World.
