Biography
Dr Tuğçe Dolen is a Clinical Psychologist and Lecturer in the School of Health and Social Care, primarily contributing to the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DCP) program. She was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in 2026. Tuğçe has experience working across a range of mental health services within the NHS. Her clinical experiences span Specialist Therapeutic Fostering, Early Intervention for Psychosis, Parent-Infant Mental Health, and various adult and child services across London and the East of England. Additionally, she is a visiting lecturer at King’s College London. Clinically, Tuğçe is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis (CBT-P), Circle of Security (COS), Autism Assessment (ADOS-2) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). She holds a foundation-level qualification in Systemic Therapy. Tuğçe is interested in qualitative research approaches, specifically Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Her work adopts a feminist perspective, and she draws on her clinical experience to amplify voices of marginalised groups. Tuğçe’s research interests include, but are not limited to; the psychological impact of the criminal justice system on families, complex grief, parent-child attachment, and trauma informed care practices.
