Biography

I am a full time PhD student in the Department of Health and Social Care assessing the impact of the Care Act (2014) on the social experience of being a carer. I'm particularly focused on exploring the impact of personal budgets on a carers ability to participate in economic and social life. My background is in social work with adults and more latterly I have held carers policy and commissioning lead roles in two Local Authorities in England.
