Biography

I am a professional doctorate student within the Psychoanalytic-Psychosocial Department and also run a private practice as a psychodynamic therapist. While I am open to working with clients from all backgrounds, my clinical focus is primarily with Black women and female-identifying clients. I specialise in supporting the development and consolidation of the self through a relational, trauma-informed, and culturally attuned psychodynamic approach. My work emphasises exploring identity, intersubjective patterns, and the effects of systemic and socially constructed stereotypes to dismantle oppressive narratives and foster authentic, empowered selfhood.

Thesis

Exploring the Transference Dyad in the Therapeutic Space: The Relevance of Black Female Therapist and Black Female Adolescent Client Dyad in a School Setting using the Psychodynamic Approach

This doctoral study examines the transference dyad within the therapeutic space between Black female therapists and Black female adolescent clients in school-based counselling, employing a psychodynamic framework. Grounded in clinical observation and interdisciplinary literature on race, adolescence, and intergenerational trauma, the research investigates how shared racial and cultural identity shapes unconscious projections and transferential and countertransference responses.
